Young Technologists Scholarships for Study in CQUniversity Australia 2015

The Young Technologist Scholarship is open to undergraduate technology and media studies students. It is designed to increase the overall number of students studying technology at university and pursuing careers in the field of technology. In particular, the scholarship aims to address the gender imbalance and promote stronger diversity within the technology workforce.
This Scholarship will offer you be paid in two instalments of $2,500 via electronic funds transfer directly to the student no later than 14 working days after Census date in Terms 1 and 2 (provided that the Scholarship recipient meets the continuingeligibility criteria for 5 Year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a Westpac Young Technolgoists Scholarship applicants need to:
  • be an Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
  • be a Year 12 student completing their Queensland Certificate of Education (or equivalent) and expecting to achieve an OP 1 – 7 (or equivalent); or, a non-school leaver who has completed their studies within the last 2 years prior toapplying for a scholarship and can demonstrate exemplary work and/or community achievements
  • be 26 years of age or below at time of enrolment on CQUniversity’s program
  • demonstrate an interest in enhancing Australia’s Technology and/or Digital landscape
  • enrol in an approved bachelor degree program in 2016 at CQUniversity on a full time basis, or plan to enrol in a dual degree on a full time basis which includes one of the approved bachelor degree programs
  • Approved bachelor degree programs include:
    • Bachelor of Information Technology
    • Bachelor of Information Technology (Co-Op)
    • Bachelor of Digital Media
Selection Criteria
Scholarship applicants are required to provide a video response address questions regarding the applicant’s interest and ideas in enhancing Australia’s Technology and/or Digital landscape. The video should be no longer than three minutes and feature the applicant.
Continuing Eligibility Criteria:
In order to continue receiving the scholarship, recipients must:
  • be enrolled in an approved bachelor degree program on a full time basis
  • not be a recipient of another CQUniversity merit scholarship (equity scholarships are acceptable)
  • maintain a credit average (or Grade Point Average of 5.0) for the duration of their degree
  • be an active member of the Westpac Scholars alumni which includes commitment for at least the first 12 months after the scholarship to actively share the experience and attend alumni events
  • provide a report/story with photos for the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation to use for reporting a promotional purposes
  • be willing to attend events organised by the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation
  • agree to membership of the Westpac Scholars LinkedIn community
  • agree to authorise release of results to Westpac Bicentennial Fund
  • provide updates on experience, both academic and additional
  • be willing to promote the scholarship to prospective CQUniversity students
Payment of the Scholarship

How to apply
To apply for the Young Technologist Scholarship:
  • Read the Scholarship Terms and Conditions
  • Complete a Scholarship Application Form
  • Ensure all supporting documentation is completed and attached as outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines and Application Form
  • Submit your Scholarship Application to the Student Success Centre by the closing date – refer to the Scholarship Application Form for submission options
